Acrylic or Perspex is available in many different colours and thicknesses. This is the most common plastic material we are asked to cut, in any thickness up to 30mm. The main business sectors for this are for display and signage.
CNC routing results in a frosted edge to the cut part, which we can flame polish to achieve gloss effect, although in most cases the CNC routed edge is sufficient. Plastic perspex has a harder surface than polycarbonate. Plastic is also cheaper and easier to fabricate although it is more brittle.
Speciality perspex, plastic products include: translucent and opal to allow light to pass through, frosted and matt finishes, fluorescent (edge-lit) colours and glass effect.
One of perspex’s advantages over PVC is the solid edge. For this reason, plastic perspex is an excellent choice when the graphics will have rounded or bevelled edges. Perspex can also be engraved and edge lit to achieve suspended illumination to a graphic design. As part of our plastic finishing services we can also fabricate, bend and glue perspex.
AXIS CNC can print directly onto all perspex products and contour cut using optical router cutting.
Available in sheet size: Numerous sheet sizes and in thickness from 3mm to 100mm. Please call us with your requirements.
